
GSM means grams per square metre — the weight of a sheet, not strictly its thickness, though the two usually track together. A higher number means a heavier, stiffer sheet.
For business cards we default to 300–350 GSM; anything lighter bends in a wallet. Letterheads sit at 90–120 GSM so they feed through printers and fold cleanly. Flyers live at 130–170 GSM for a balance of feel and cost.
The trick is matching weight to use, not always buying heavier. A 170 GSM flyer posted by the thousand costs more to print and to courier, with no real gain. Ask us and we’ll tell you where the extra rupee is worth it.
